Introduction



I like all sorts of martial arts, as an art form or as a practical form of self defence.

I don't think there is a superior or inferior martial art. A blunt knife in the hands of an expert could do more damage than a loaded weapon.

This site is dedicated for fans who like to see or read more about the arts.

There are many interesting debates online on the different martial arts, my personal view is there should be different categories in "rating" (if you dare) the martial arts.

Non professional - I define this group of people as weekend martial artists, the "ordinary" folk who practices martial arts for health, sport or interest.

3rd Category
Martial artist vs MMA (mixed martial artists) (Non professional)

Martial artist vs MMA (mixed martial artists) (Professional)

6th Category
Martial arts for:

a. Health (Basically ALL martial arts will give you a good work out)
b. Art form (Wushu, tai chi, Silat, Tae Kwon Do...all have very beautiful performance)
c. Longevity of practice (I doubt anyone can practice MMA till he is 50 - 70)
d. Physical fitness (different from health reasons) - low fat count, muscular and cardiovascular development
