Fight Quest

Fight Quest

My personal impression of the show.

It is two guys, Doug and Jimmy (pronounced in many different ways by different people around the world) joining up with two separate Masters of certain martial arts for intense 5 days training and then fighting one of the best martial artist of that particular art.

It is a great show with two very different personalities and two different approaches to the martial arts training.

Doug Anderson

This guy is a war veteran, and seems like a very emotionally unhappy person. The only time that I see him "enjoying" his training was during his time in China.

He is however VERY SERIOUS about what he does. He uses his anger to effectively channel energy into his aggressive fighting style.

He lapses alot into boxing style, but this guy is a very fast learner and exudes lots of confidence in himself, which sometimes can appear a tad arrogant on screen.

Watch out for his knock out of a Kajukenbo exponent!

Jimmy Smith

Very personable character on screen. Mr. humility, Mr. Nice guy, Mr.Hunk...I wouldn't be surprised to see him on the silver screen one day.

He is very different from Doug, and therein lies an irony. Jimmy is a martial artist, and you would expect him to excel and show his abilities, like what we were used to with Jason in Human Weapon.

Jimmy "acts" like the total novice, his "yes sir, no sir" seems a little tiring sometimes. He would say stuff like "this is difficult...etc" But in truth, this guy kicks ass!

He seems "restricted" many times. I am surprised he isn't more aggressive in his techniques like Doug is. During his fight in Manila, it was disappointing that he did not go out and expose the marines from philipines. I like his fight with the Hapkido exponent which shows his range and technical abilities.

Jimmy is a tactical fighter - he thinks before striking and works out a strategy while fighting. It would be fun to see how Jimmy and Dough square up in the ring.

I think it would be a total brawl!
